AFL greats Ian Stewart and Shane Crawford will present Trent Cotchin and Sam Mitchell with their 2012 Brownlow Medals.

The pair were retrospectively awarded the 2012 medal by the AFL commission when Essendon skipper Jobe Watson surrendered his award after serving a suspension for an anti-doping violation.

Stewart, a triple Brownlow Medal winner who won Richmond's last Brownlow in 1971, will present Cotchin with his award.

Crawford, a 305-game Hawthorn legend who won the Brownlow Medal in 1999, will present former Hawks skipper Mitchell with his medal.

Mitchell is now a West Coast player after making a shock move west during the recent AFL trade period.

The medal presentation ceremony will be held at midday on Tuesday at a function centre near AFL House in Melbourne's Docklands precinct.

Watson's decision to hand back his medal pre-empted an AFL commission meeting convened to debate stripping him of the award after he was one of 34 past and present Bombers players banned for their part in the club's ill-fated 2012 supplements program.
